Industrial wastewaters usually contain higher organic loads than municipal wastes.  Anaerobic technology is the most efficient method of dealing with such wastes, producing a cost-effective solution, as the operating costs of anaerobic treatment are comparatively low  compared to aerobic treatment as no oxygen transfer is required for treatment. The process used extensively by C.P. Envirosystems, which enjoys world wide reputation, is the UASB process (Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket).  Typical applications are in the food procesing industry  and beverage industries.
